A fellow non-traditional friend recently said to me, “You know, other than your text books, you never seem to finish a book.” Though I have finished a couple, it is pretty much true. I have not been able to settle in and complete a real book, other than texts, in about two years or so. I did read “Wrack and Ruin” by Don Lee (please read this book-you will love it!), and maybe a couple others. Being a non-traditional student has made me realize how much a human can read in four month spurts while working a full-time job, and the amount is impressively staggering! I have a stack of texts like you wouldn’t believe, and I have read almost every page!
That said, here is the latest. I shall start with the “for fun and relaxation books”, then I will move into current texts on my lap:
Words cannot describe this experience! You must read this!
I am really wanting to read all of Dickens, and I would LOVE to take a Dickens class! In the July 13, 2009 Newsweek, David Gates wrote an article about re-reading favorites, including Dickens. He will be teaching a Dickens course in the fall. So, in little bits, I am reading this.
